Yadegar Documentary Film Festival to Commence Today

TEHRAN May 16 (MNA) –- The Third Yadegar Documentary Film Festival begins today in the cities of Tehran, Shiraz, and Kermanshah as well as in Vancouver, Canada.

A total of 89 documentaries will compete in the competition section, and over 160 documentaries will be screened in different sections during the weeklong event.

 

Naser Taqva’i, Mohammadreza Moqaddasian, Ahmad Zabeti Jahromi, Morteza Razzaq Karimi, and Parvin Sadr are the jury members of the festival.

 

Nineteen documentary films produced at France’s Scientific Center along with 9 top selected films of the Chinese film festival will participate in the non-competition section of the festival.

 

Jahromi’s “Green Umbrella,” “Jahrom Palm,” “Tree of Life,” “Autumn Tree,” “and “Palm of Mourning,” will be screened on the first day of the festival, while “Hot Mud bricks,” “Fissures,” and “Voice of Bam,” are to be screened in the special section for Bam.

 

Iranian “Nowruz,” “Water and Ancestors,” “Color, Pain, Life,” “Earthquake Vaccinate,” “Prophets of Our Land,” “History of Money,” and “Fancy City” are among the entries in the competition section.

 

Documentaries from Afghanistan, Venezuela, Brazil, and China will be screened in the competition section of the festival.
